Broader Impact of Effective Water Management: Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Waterborne Pathogen Reduction Benefits

Details

 Learning outcomes
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of water management strategies for Legionella control and their broader impact on plumbing system performance by analyzing case studies that demonstrate significant reductions in waterborne pathogens.

  • Assess the relationship between water quality and the operational efficiency of plumbing infrastructure across various facility types, focusing on maintenance cost reductions and system longevity.

  • Examine how sediment and corrosion affect the lifespan of mechanical equipment in plumbing systems by comparing expected versus actual equipment performance across different industries.

  • Demonstrate how implementing supplemental disinfection and sediment filtration can enhance sustainability in plumbing systems, highlighting potential energy savings, reduced maintenance needs, and improved system reliability.
