Medical-Grade Water Disinfection Serving: Healthcare, Hospitality, Commercial & Industrial

Questions and Answers

Q:How prevalent is Legionella bacteria?
A: Legionella is a ubiquitous bacteria found in warm moist environments. The bacteria become dangerous in water distribution systems where it finds optimal breeding conditions. The bacteria have the potential to reach dangerous proportions in any water distribution system. Link to Legionella page
Q: Are LiquiTech systems registered with the EPA?
A: Yes, LiquiTech is fully registered with the EPA as a pesticide producing device establishment, registration number 068250. LiquiTech strictly abides by all EPA rules and regulations. (The USEPA does not approve or recommend any disinfection method. Any statements to the contrary are a breach of federal law and should be reported.)
Q:Does water pH affect the efficacy of Copper/Silver?
A: No level of pH has hindered the efficacy of any LiquiTech system in our 15 years of experience. We have successfully treated water with pH above 9 without complications.
Q:Can Copper/Silver ionization be used successfully on non-hot water systems (i.e. cold water)?
A: Yes, Copper/Silver ions are not affected by water temperature and have been used successfully in hot and cold water applications, unlike Chlorine and Chlorine Dioxide which are temperature sensitive and dissipate at warmer water temperatures. However, Legionella is considered to be far more prevalent in warm water temperatures and once the hot water system is disinfected the problem of Legionella is eliminated through the entire water system in most cases.
